The advanced Configuration Management characteristics of Device Manager further provides administrators with the ability to pre-define default device configuration for groups of thin client and other devices and for all operating systems, significantly reducing deployment time and facilitating easy and rapid recovery in the event of device failure.

Device Manager also gives administrators the ability to deliver to users the applications they need, when and where they need them. Its Software Distribution functionality optimises distribution for the available bandwidth, taking into account the varying connectivity often found within large organisations.

Device Manager adds support for the latest S and V class Winterm thin clients. It can also be installed on servers running the Windows 2003 operating system and includes support for Windows 2003 Service Pack 1. Meanwhile, administrators are also able to install Device Manager in their Windows XP Service Pack 2 environments to further simplify the management of their thin client devices.
