| Why has Citrix
only launched thin clients with VXL?
| For many years VXL have noticed
a low attach rate of thin clients within the Citrix
world. It’s estimated that of the 180 million
deployed Citrix licenses only 16 million are attached
to thin clients. The low attach rate suppresses
the sales of thin clients, but more importantly
it means that the Citrix user does not benefit
from the Total Cost of Ownership delivered by
a thin environment. VXL asked Citrix if they would
contribute to the design of a product to encourage
existing and prospective Citrix customers to attach
a thin client rather than remain with or purchase
a PC. |

What makes Citrix thin clients different from
other thin clients?
Citrix Thin Clients are optimised for Citrix in that
they have Citrix agents embedded in flash memory, which
make it simple for a user to access Citrix applications.
The products also come with VoIP and have a unique Citrix
look and feel.
Why has Voice over IP been included?
The SMB market, identified as <75 users, is a particular
target market for Citrix and VXL and VoIP has been included
as standard as there is a greater need for data and
telephony convergence in this market.
Why has Citrix software been bundled?
Citrix agents have been bundled for selected Citrix
applications to make it:
1. Easy for the user to access the applications
2. To demonstrate to the user that the VXL Thin Clients
have really been designed with Citrix in mind
