Security Explorer's graphical interface increases administrator productivity and provides centralized control, simplifying and standardizing the management of the security of Windows server resources across the enterprise. Security Explorer is an essential tool for any administrator who secures Windows or has to maintain permissions to achieve regulatory compliance.
Security Explorer overcomes the difficulties encountered when using Explorer or command line tools to manage file security. Comprehensive backup, restore, search, grant, revoke, clone and export functions take management of permissions to new levels. Tasks that were previously either impossible or extremely difficult are now as simple as Point, Click, Done! |

Security Explorer - Licensing
Security Explorer is licensed by the number of servers on which you want to manage permissions.
It doesn't matter how many CPUs or NICs a server has – one server computer requires one license. For clustered servers, each node in the cluster requires one license. For DFS, one license is required for every server computer being managed, even if they all files are visible through one root share.
For NAS and SAN systems, it is only the number of servers that is counted – not the number of storage nodes or disk arrays.
