File System Auditor

File System Auditor audits, reports and alerts on Windows file server activity, showing who touched which files and folders, when and on what server. File System Auditor audits, reports and alerts on Windows file server activity, showing who touched which files and folders, when and on what server.

Unlike event log consolidation solutions, which provide countless entries to represent a single event, File System Auditor uses intelligent auditing at the file system level to capture all activity and display each event as a single entry, which provides for better reporting, analysis and decision making.

Define – Simple GUI selections to select audited tasks

Collect – Event data is centrally stored on an SQL database

Report – Audit usage and generate reports based on detailed criteria

Notify – Configure reports to be generated and emailed in real-time

Enhanced Server Security

Organisations looking to validate their security controls, establish they have met compliance requirements or simply monitor file system activity, File System Auditor provides the real-time monitoring of every file system event needed to produce viable, trustworthy and complete reports of user activity.

File System Auditor Licensing

File System Auditor is licensed by the number of servers where you will capture file events.

It doesn't matter how many CPUs or NICs a server has – one server computer requires one license. For active-active clustered servers, each node in the cluster requires one license. For active-passive clusters only one license is required. For DFS, one license is required for every server computer being audited, even if all files are visible through one root share.

For NAS and SAN systems, it is only the number of servers that is counted – not the number of storage nodes or disk arrays.
